Andrea B. Murray
MPH
Andrea E. Murray, MPH, is a public health and community impact leader with more than 15 years of experience advancing health equity, strengthening community partnerships, and improving population health outcomes across healthcare, academic, nonprofit, and government sectors.
As Director of Community Impact for Union Community Care, Andrea leads strategic initiatives that address social determinants of health, expand access to care, and strengthen relationships among healthcare providers, community organizations, businesses, and government agencies across Central Pennsylvania. Her work focuses on creating sustainable partnerships and innovative solutions that improve the health and well-being of diverse communities.
Prior to joining Union Community Care, Andrea served in several leadership roles at Penn State College of Medicine and Penn State Health, including REACH Director, Community Engagement Director, and Research Project Manager. In these positions, she directed federally funded public health initiatives, managed multimillion-dollar budgets, supervised interdisciplinary teams, and helped translate community-driven research into policy and practice. Her efforts have been instrumental in building trust between academic institutions and communities while advancing health equity and chronic disease prevention initiatives throughout Pennsylvania.
Andrea's career also includes leadership roles with the Pennsylvania Department of Health's Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Program and Chester County Health Department, where she developed expertise in public health nutrition, maternal and child health, outreach, marketing, and statewide program implementation.
Throughout her career, Andrea has demonstrated a passion for community engagement and collaborative leadership. She has extensive experience securing grant funding, developing strategic partnerships, facilitating community coalitions, and engaging stakeholders to create meaningful and measurable impact. Her work has contributed to numerous peer-reviewed publications focused on community-engaged research, health promotion, and reducing health disparities.
Andrea holds a Master of Public Health and a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics from West Chester University of Pennsylvania. She serves on several community and professional boards, including the Community Health Council of Lebanon County, The Cougar Foundation, and the West Chester University Alumni Association Executive Board of Directors.
Her contributions have been recognized through numerous honors, including the 2025 Emerging Leader Award from the Lebanon Valley Chamber of Commerce, the Penn State College of Medicine Outstanding Research Staff Member Award, the Penn State Health Community Leader Award, and recognition from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention as a National Flu Fighter.
Andrea is dedicated to fostering healthier, more equitable communities through partnership, innovation, and servant leadership.
